Application of NIR spectroscopy for sport supplements identification

Summary

The aim of this paper was to distinguish various samples of sport supplements.  The samples have been subjected to NIR at a broad range of wavenumbers (12500- -4000 cm-1). The principal component analysis (PCA) performed on the near infrared spectra allowed to define three distinctive groups of sport supplements: whey,  creatine and BCAA. The results indicate that the NIR spectroscopy offers a promising approach for quality evaluation of sport supplements.
