Storage stability and stability of a moisturizing protective lipstick with different vegetable oils in the composition

Summary In this work, we prepared a recipe of natural moisturizing and protective lipstick and we tested their stability under different storage conditions. These lip balms contain different plant oils: coconut oil, apricot kernel oil, castor and olive oil. During the entire storage period, once a week, the following levels were investigated: the level of hydration and the degree of water loss from the epidermis, the colour of lipsticks and the infrared spectra of the lipsticks. The obtained results were compared to the results obtained from the first measurements (immediately after producing the lipsticks). The analyses made it possible to assess the stability of the lipsticks in various storage conditions and allowed them to be compared with each other. Conducting a stability assessment allowed to determine the time of minimal durability of products and determine the optimal conditions for their storage. Thanks to them, factors, such as temperature, change or access to light have been determined to influence the quality of cosmetics.
