The analysis of market offer of dermocosmetics for vascular skin care available in the Polish market

Summary

In this work the analysis of Polish market offer of dermocosmetics for vascular skin care was conducted. 85 products available in pharmacies were analyzed in Poznań in 2018. The aim of analysis was to estimate physicochemical forms of products for vascular skin care and the kinds of active ingredients used in formulations. The biggest group among dermocosmetics for vascular skin care is daily care products (60%), such as day and night creams, toning creams and gels. Creams that have moisturizing, protective, soothing, relieving, redness-reducing, strengthening, thermoregulating and antiwrinkle effects represent the largest proportion in this group (88.25%). In dermocosmetics for vascular skin care, 70 single active ingredients as well as 68 mineral raw materials, fungi, algae as well as extracts and fats of plant origin were identified. Analysis found, that the most popular active ingredients are vitamin E, panthenol (provitamin B5), allantoin, vitamin C, troxerutin, dextran sulfate, niacinamide (vitamin B3), horse chestnut extract, shea butter and algae extracts. The analysed active ingredients most often show antimicrobial, antiinflammatory, antioxidative, regenerating, capillary sealing (making them more flexible), antiswelling, emollient, soothing and moisturizing effects.
