SELECTED PROPERITIES OF LOW-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE FREEZER BAGS

Summary:

Plastic bags are the most frequently used packaging for freezing food. Quality of the stored product may depend on their properties. Too low strength parameters of the packaging may in fact contribute to its damage and, consequently, lead to the contamination of the product or change in its quality. The purpose of this study is to present the results of low density polyethylene freezer bags chosen physical parameters analysis. The experimental material consisted of 6 packaging  samples that were stored for 6 months at a temperature of 255 K. After each month of the research tensile strength and load at break for vertical and vertical with seal direction were analyzed. The results show that the analyzed material differs significantly regarding strength properties. However, no significant changes in the parameters during storage were observed.
